Francois CoetzerI have been in the world of sport and fitness since I was a kid. My parents knew that their young son was full of energy and knew that organized sport would be the only way their little energy ball would ever sleep as night. Little did they know they set me up for a career in fitness from that day on. As I grew up I got more involved in the sports that I was doing; including coaching athletes of all ages. This made me realize that I love teaching and sharing my passion for fitness and just movement overall. After graduating from the University of Alberta in 2010, I was not sure where my career path would go. I applied to be a personal trainer just to get my foot in the door in the industry and see where it takes me. I was able to climb very fast up the "corporate ladder" for personal trainers, but something was missing. I was only reaching a very narrow audience and so I started teaching a freestyle spin class to broaden my horizons. At first, I did it for my self fitness but soon a fire sparked and I started teaching more and created a following. From there it was a snowball effect. The more group fitness opportunities came my way, the more I took advantage of them by learning new skills and racking in the certifications. Now 6 years post-graduation I am fully immersed in the fitness industry. I am able to reach the largest population of people looking to be involved in fitness. From those who are just beginning their journey to the elite fitness athlete looking for a change in their program, and it's all done together in a group. I love to teach about fitness, it has completely decided the direction my life is going, and I hope that I can instill my experience and knowledge on you. Francois Coetzer |
